Chenango Hills Nigerian Dwarf Dairy Goats

David Funk is a long-time goat breeder who has turned his attention
entirely to the breeding of top-flight Nigerian Dwarf dairy goats.David is
a retired teacher who still coaches interscholastic sports. He and his
wife Karen now live west of Albany near the picturesque village of
Altamont where they raise and care for their Nigerian Dwarf herd.

 Experience as a judge enabled them to find exactly the
genetic material they wanted, and select just the right bloodlines to
establish this small but highly select herd.

DHI 2008 747lb m, 61 lb fat(8.2%)  39 lb protein as a first freshener, a Gorda daughter by Rosasharn Uproar LA: 82 as  a first freshening 2yr old. bred to Bilbao Baggins.  Freshened in March with two does and a buck.  The does have already gone to a new home.  One buck for sale--Unique made over 7 lbs milk first test, over 6 second test.

 Sire, Chenango Hills Tom Thumb, (Ariel xRosasharn's C H Uproar), Dam, our own Rosasharn G X Sweet Pea 5*D, Gorda's Galaxy daughter - Fantastic udder; 4.6 lbs per day; Littermate to *B Chenango-Hills Golden Galahad (at Goulds),  Trixie Appraised in 2008 Very Good 86 at age one!  Has made her star this lactation, starting at 1-02, to become a 6* D.bred to "Ring Bearer".  Freshened May 30 with beautiful vigorous triplet does for the second year in a row.  Two of her does are for sale; one will be retained in the herd.  (6 doe kids in 2 freshenings!!!!

freshened  in early May with a buck and a doe, both for sale.  She went RGCH at the Altamont doe show, May 23.  First test, at 1-01, 4.0 lbs.   She is also for sale .

2. Chenango-Hills Faerie Princess-a Goddess daughter by Ring Bearer, littermate to Bilbao Baggins. Bred to Horus, due in late June ;  Won a dry leg at the Eastern NY 2 ring club show May 23.  Her junior kid sister Clionia  won in the other ring.

3. Chenango-Hills Blythe Spirit . This doe is sired by Ring Bearer, out of Trixie.   She freshened May 30   She is at least as nice as Gabriella. Bred to Bilbao Baggins she had a doe kid--at 0-11mo.  Both she and the kid are available for sale.

4.  Chenango-Hills Fashion Plate Another Trixie daughter, triplet sister to Blythe, standing as a dry yearling..
