Welcome to Chenango Hills Dairy Goats,

Specializing in breeding the finest Nigerian Dwarfs. 

1. In picturesque Altamont, Albany County NY, is the farm where we care for our small select herd of outstanding animals. Bred for production, selected for conformation, they excell at both.  Beginning with exceptional genetics, for which we thank Anne Petersen of Rosasharn, and Heather Marciello, we have developed animals with correctness of conformation and both the strength and will to milk.  Our DHI record (Rolling herd average for Dec. 2009 ---1078 m , 71 f, 51 p) and linear appraisal scores (Herd average: 87 VG speak for themselves.

We participate in many ADGA and AGS performance programs, including DHIA testing, Linear Appraisal, and showing to a limited extent,  at local and area shows.

 In 2007, one of our animals, Chenango-Hills Paisley Print was selected as the ADGA Spotlight Sale representative for our breed, selling for $1450. 

In 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009 we have had does in the TOP TEN for production for ADGA, AGS, or both.  We have had 2 different does qualify in  two of those years despite  maintaining a herd which averages only 5 does in milk .    One of our does,  Rosasharn TL Gorda, was ADGA breed leader for protein in 2008.  In addition, all of our does on the breed leader lists have either been Permanent Champions or have Linear appraised Excellent with a 90 mammary score.  Also, every first freshener in the 4 years we have been on test has made her star.  In a herd which averages 5 does in milk we have had 3 different animals make TOP TEN, with a 4th pending.  All our animals are dual AGS/ADGA registered.
